BOOMTOWN is a feature-length documentary focusing on the explosive economic growth of the area around Branson, Missouri. As Branson has become a country music mecca, new residents and tourists have poured into this tiny Ozark Mountain town, changing the face of the community forever. Set in the world of country music, BOOMTOWN will follow the lives of several Branson residents over the course of a single tourist season, and use their stories as a springboard for examining a number of social issues that affect all Americans.

 

PRELIMINARY SHOOTING TO BEGIN

 

After several fact finding trips by BOOMTOWN's director, Chris Boebel and Producer, Peter Brooks, the production will be moving south to begin audio and video interviews.

 

EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCER SIGNS ON TO "BOOMTOWN"

 

Nota Bene, a Belgium-based production company, has signed on as BOOMTOWN's representative in all European markets. Jean-Phillipe Laroche, Executive Producer at Nota Bene, has produced award winning documentaries with the BBC, Belgium, French, and Swiss TV. Speaking for Nota Bene, Mr. Laroache said, "The combination of great country music and kitschy American pop culture makes Boomtown an exciting project with world-wide appeal - - we're fortunate to be involved."

 

CHIMERA, INC. PROVIDES LIGHTING

 

Chimera, Inc. has generously provided two of their renown Super Pro Bank Soft Light units for the production. Chimera Super Pro Soft Banks are used by award winning cinematographers around the world - - they will add tremendous visual impact to BOOMTOWN.

 

RICOH CORPORATION AGREES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT

 

Ricoh Corporation USA, a manufacturer of fine photographic and electronic imaging equipment, has agreed to provide photographic products for the production of BOOMTOWN.

 

SHURE BROS. SUPPLIES AUDIO

 

Shure Brothers has offered the use of the soon to be introduced FP33 production mixer. The FP33 is the updated version of the tremendously successful FP32 stereo mixer. The quality, reliability, and convenience of Shure products will be a welcome addition to our film.
