Monte is a lost soul. Ever since the death of his wife, he has no will to live.

Until he meets Dot, on the anniversary of the sad event. Not that it's love at first sight - - more like requited annoyance. But over the course of a single day, annoyance mellows to acceptance and...maybe, the blossoming of love.

But not so fast romance fans, love's got one major hurdle - - in the form of Monte's excruciatingly dysfunctional family. They can't part with the memory of Monte's first wife. In fact they seem to take perverse pleasure in reminiscing about her - - twenty four hours a day.

How can Dot compete with a woman who exists only as a perfect memory? Will the scheming of his family, or perhaps cruel fate, keep Monte and Dot apart forever?
